Ballet Academy North Company

This is a preprofessional ballet company for the serious dancer wishing to focus on proper ballet, pointe and contemporary training. The majority of dancers in Ballet Academy North Company have aspirations of dancing in college and/or dancing professionally. It is a rigorous program designed to help the students be adequately prepared should they desire a future in dance. The students learn and rehearse professional, classical and contemporary repertoire, the same as professional dancers in a company would. They have opportunities to perform these roles, as well as compete at the prestigious Youth America Grand Prix, “the world’s largest international student ballet competition which awards $250,000 in scholarships each year to dance schools within the United States and internationally.” They are prepared to know how to audition for prestigious ballet schools and educated on what the life of a dancer is truly like from our Ballet Director, Kelly Yankle(see full bio for details). In addition to technical and artistic training; dedication, discipline, strong work ethic and perseverance are expected from all Company Members. Grades in school must be kept up in order to be a member of the company. This program is a commitment.  The Company has two branches; First Company and Second Company. First company is typically made up of the older more advanced dancers. They have more required classes and rehearsals and must be at least age 11 and have had one year of pointe to be eligible for the 1st Company. 2nd Company was designed for the younger students in training with hopes of training and eventually getting into the 1st company.
